Practice Group: Product Liability

The Product Liability Practice Group defends national and multinational corporations against a broad range of claims in a variety of settings. 

 

A large part of the Group’s practice involves defending complex product liability litigation. This practice includes cases ranging from individual claims to catastrophic multi-party litigation. Clients of the Group include manufacturers and distributors of automobiles, motor vehicle component parts, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, recreational equipment, industrial equipment and pharmaceutical products. 

 

The Group also defends corporations in consumer litigation. The Group’s practice in this area includes individual claims, the coordination of multiple claims on a regional level, and class action litigation.

 

The Group’s practice also includes the defense of corporations in premises liability, general negligence, and commercial matters in state and federal courts, and through the alternative dispute resolution methods of negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Clients of the Group in these areas include product manufacturers and distributors, office supply companies, travel/hospitality companies and insurance companies.

 

Robert M. Goodman is the Chair of the Group and is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Product Liability Litigation category and is a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council.
