Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis LLP

Summer Associates

Introduction

GRS&D's summer program provides law students with the opportunity to gain tangible legal experience in transactional and litigation matters in each of the firm's departments. Through direct professional and personal contact with partners, associates and staff, our summer associates come to know the firm's culture and philosophy in a friendly and supportive environment where we represent the interests of our clients on interesting, challenging and often cutting edge matters.

Salary

In addition to gaining valuable legal experience, our summer associate compensation is competitive with other comparable firms in the region.

How Much of Your Summer are You Sharing with Us?

The summer program runs approximately 8-10 weeks, with flexible start and end times that will not interfere with either spring finals or preparation for the fall semester. Opportunities for split summers will be considered based upon the needs of the law student and the firm.

What Can You Expect from Our Summer Associate Program?

Summer associates are under the guidance and supervision of a partner. Attorneys throughout the firm submit project requests to this partner, who then assigns a summer associate to each project. An effort is made to assure that each summer associate has exposure to many of the firm's attorneys and departments and summer associates are encouraged to express an interest in specific practice areas. Upon completion of each assignment, the attorney who submitted the project provides a written evaluation to the summer program supervisor. Feedback is provided directly to the summer associate in a positive and constructive manner.

Each summer associate will have access to the tools he or she needs to have a successful summer: a senior associate mentor to smooth integration into the firm and in-house training and seminars.

Why Choose Us?

Summer associates receive direct exposure to the legal process by attending closings, hearings/trials, depositions, negotiations and business meetings. Seminars, luncheons and outings offer informal settings to further develop professional and personal ties to the firm and its attorneys. The firm also invites summer associates to in-house marketing seminars and our in-house Rainmakers Forum, where successful business developers share their ideas about marketing and generating new business.

Most importantly, through daily interaction with our attorneys and staff, summer associates get to see first hand what it is like to be an attorney at GRS&D. We are certain that you will not be disappointed and will want to come on board as a full time associate after graduating from law school.
