Barry S. Goodman, Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Brokerage Practice Group, will be at speaker at  “2014 Hot Topics in Residential Real Estate Law,” to be hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on October 16th at the Law Center in New Brunswick.

This practical annual update will bring attendees up-to-speed on the most common problems that arise when seeking to close a residential real estate deal. The law governing residential real estate transactions continues to evolve. Each year, new difficulties present themselves that you need to know how to handle - from new marketing and selling techniques and buyer incentives to real estate brokerage issues, underground storage tanks, radon and vapor concerns, property designated as a historic landmark and new developments in COAH.  Effective and time saving techniques for avoiding or dealing with these situations, should they occur, will be presented.

Mr. Goodman has a practice concentration in real estate and real estate brokerage issues, as well as antitrust suits, corporate shareholders’ and partnership disputes and municipal law. He serves as General Counsel to New Jersey Association of REALTORS®. He is approved by the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance Real Estate Commission as a New Jersey Real Estate Continuing Education Instructor. Mr. Goodman is the Author of the book New Jersey Real Estate Brokerage Law (New Jersey Law Journal Books, 2011-2014) and numerous articles on real estate brokerage law as well as a frequent lecturer on the subject.
