New Jersey Law Center, New Brunswick, NJ

Robert Beckelman, a partner in the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will be a speaker at the 2016 Annual Redevelopment Law Institute, to be presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) on January 29, 2016 from 9:00am – 3:00pm.  The program will be held at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

The annual Institute brings together attorneys, planners, financial consultants and other professionals who are involved in redevelopment projects throughout New Jersey.  The program faculty will deliver an intermediate level seminar that delves deeply into the legal issues that impact redevelopment in the state.

Mr. Beckelman will moderate a panel discussion on the impact, from the planner’s perspective, of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s ruling in the case 62-64 Main Street v. Hackensack.  Other sessions will focus on the condemnation of contaminated properties, redevelopment in downtown Newark, and the use of redevelopment as a tool to satisfy municipal affordable housing requirements.

Mr. Beckelman focuses his practice in redevelopment, land use and zoning, eminent domain, affordable housing and related litigation. He represents developers and property owners in connection with land use and zoning matters and disputes, and also represents numerous New Jersey municipalities as special redevelopment or litigation counsel.
