Barry S. Goodman, a partner in the Woodbridge office of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, recently received the Rutgers University Alumni Meritorious Service Award. The president of the Alumni Federation presented Goodman with the award on September 15, 2006 at a ceremony at the University. The award recognizes alumni, faculty, and friends of Rutgers for their service to the university.

Goodman’s accomplishments on behalf of Rutgers have been numerous. For example, he and three classmates started a class gift to maintain a garden behind the law school and created a scholarship fund to support disabled students, both in memory of a deceased classmate who championed the rights of the disabled.

The New Jersey Supreme Court recently appointed Goodman to the board of trustees of the Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Fund, which provides funding for civil legal services for the poor and education for lay persons in law related areas. He has also been a trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, and is a current trustee of the Hunterdon Healthcare System and the Hunterdon Medical Center. Goodman is a past president of the Rutgers - Newark Law School Alumni Association and of the United Way of Hunterdon County.

Goodman is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and focuses his practice on handling real estate and real estate brokerage issues; complex commercial litigation, and municipal law. He is the General Counsel for the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® and a frequent author and lecturer on real estate and other brokerage issues.
