As an attorney, I most value becoming an integral part in my clients’ short and long term successes. The opportunity to counsel a client as they overcome their business challenges and flourish is what makes the practice of law so personally rewarding for me.

Mr. Schiller concentrates his practice in commercial real estate law.  His work encompasses a wide array of commercial real estate transactional, zoning, redevelopment, taxation and litigation matters throughout New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Mr. Schiller's transactional experience includes the acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of office, retail, and industrial properties, with a recent focus on properties located in Opportunity Zones.  He has assisted clients with the creation of Qualified Opportunity Funds (QOFs) and Qualified Opportunity Zone Businesses (QOZBs) under the Opportunity Zone Program, which was created under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage growth and investment in certain designated low income communities.

In addition, Mr. Schiller's practice includes seeking municipal and state land use approvals for commercial and residential developments. He also represents special servicers in connection with distressed real estate assets, including loan workouts and modifications, foreclosures, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, REO sales and loan sales.

Mr. Schiller also has considerable real estate litigation experience representing lenders, borrowers, guarantors, developers, property owners and tenants in connection with foreclosure actions, landlord-tenant disputes, prerogative writ actions, breach of contract matters, and other real estate related disputes.  Further, he represents commercial and residential property owners and tenants in tax appeals before the New Jersey Tax Court and county boards of taxation.
