Maura E. Blau, counsel in the firm’s Environmental Department, will moderate a panel discussion at the New Jersey Appleseed Public Policy Forum on “Embedding Sustainable Development & Land Use into Public Policy.” The program takes place on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Seton Hall University School of Law from 8:00am until 4:45pm.

Ms. Blau is scheduled to moderate a panel discussion entitled “It’s the Economy Stupid: Private Sector Concerns & How Implementing ‘Green’ Impacts the Bottom Line,” which will focus on how private industry is, or is not, preparing for climate change related regulation that may become law in the foreseeable future.

Ms. Blau counsels clients on a broad range of environmental and energy related matters. Her work encompasses environmental assessments and due diligence for complex real estate transactions, regulatory compliance under ISRA and other environmental statutes, permitting, contaminated site remediation and brownfield redevelopment. She has a longstanding interest and particular practice focus with respect to alternative energy, sustainable building initiatives and climate change issues. Ms. Blau has degrees in environmental science and mechanical engineering as well as law, a background which enables here to understand environmental and energy related issues, building operational systems and the tools of sustainability from the technical detail perspective.
