David B. Farer, Chair of the firm’s Environmental Department, will lecture and lead a series of discussions and panels at his presentation of “The Changing Face of Site Remediation & Development in New Jersey: The Impact of Sandy, LSRPs and Other Critical Issues." The seminar is the latest in a longstanding series of presentations developed and presented by Mr. Farer for NJICLE dating back to the mid-1980s. Mr. Farer will be joined by a faculty of senior level DEP officials, Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), and highly experienced environmental attorneys, including Environmental Department partner Jay A. Jaffe. In conjunction with the seminar, NJICLE will publish the 8th Edition of Mr. Farer's Manual: "ISRA Compliance: Environmental Issues in Transactions, Brownfield Redevelopment and the Site Remediation Reform Act."

Mr. Farer concentrates his practice on the impact of environmental laws on transactions and real property in New Jersey and around the nation. He has been on the cutting edge of developments in the environmental law sector since the 1980s. He has extensive experience related to the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties including brownfields, environmental compliance and insurance issues, institutional and engineering controls, assessing and negotiating liability under federal and state Superfund laws, resolution of environmental issues in bankruptcy proceedings, litigation arising from those issues, and the emerging field of sustainable development and green building. For over twenty-five years, Mr. Farer has written and lectured extensively on environmental issues in New Jersey and nationally.  He was the first New Jersey lawyer to be appointed a Fellow in the American College of Environmental Lawyers
