2:15pm – 3:00pm

Kenneth J. Sheehan, a partner in the firm’s Environmental and Energy & Renewable Resources practices, will be a presenter at the New Jersey Business & Industry Association’s (NJBIA) Energy and Environmental Policy Forum on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center in Franklin Township.

Energy and environmental issues are increasingly intertwined.  This is even more the case with climate policies driving energy policies as well as an emphasis being placed on “environmental justice.”  With a new administration in Washington and a new governor to be elected this year, the state of energy and environmental policies are in flux.

NJBIA’s two-day Energy and Environmental Policy Forum is the largest and most substantive conference of its type in New Jersey.  From resiliency to reliability and from EJ to plastics, this conference will cover it all. Ken will be a panelist for the breakout session “Rate Setting: Why are Rates Going Up and What Can We Do About It?” which will address how utility rates are calculated. The session is scheduled for 2:15pm – 3:00pm.

Ken concentrates his practice on the regulatory, legislative and transactional issues associated with initiatives involving highly regulated utilities, including clean and solar energy, electric and gas, solid waste, water and wastewater, cable and telecommunications. His broad-based experience in both the public and private sectors has provided him with a deep understanding of public utility law and administrative law, which throughout his career has informed his representation of clients ranging from public utilities to the developers of commercial and community solar projects.

The NJBIA is the largest statewide employer association in the country. The group’s 20,000 members represent every industry in New Jersey, including contractors, manufacturers, retail and wholesale businesses, and service providers of every kind. NJBIA member companies employ over 1 million people.
