Brian R. Selvin, a partner in the firm’s Tax, Trusts & Estates practice, will speak at a seminar on “Estate Planning for Alternative Assets: Sports Memorabilia,” to be presented by the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00pm – 8:15pm at The Madison Hotel in Morristown.
Significant sports memorabilia collections are part of a niche asset class that grew in value significantly during the pandemic. Private equity and venture capitalists have also entered this arena. These assets must be properly managed in a portfolio. This program will address such topics as authenticity, photo-matching, market transparency, liquidity, recent sales and auction results, risk tolerance, storage, insurance, and succession planning.
Brian practices in the areas of estate and tax planning, estate administration, probate and trust litigation, wills and trusts, business succession planning, and tax controversy before federal and state tax authorities as well as federal and state Tax Courts.
