Greenbaum attorney Kathryn Hyde will be a panelist for a live webinar on the “Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights: One Year Later,” to be presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 12:00pm – 1:40pm.
The program will provide a comprehensive overview of the New Jersey Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, a landmark 2024 statute that established new labor protections and employment standards for domestic workers in private households across the state. The presentation will address the scope and application of the law, including how it affects employment relationships involving domestic workers – nannies, housekeepers, caregivers, and other in-home workers. The program will address the legislation’s key provisions, compliance obligations, enforcement mechanisms, and potential legal implications for both workers and employers.
Topics to be addressed include:
- Overview of new statutory protections and employer responsibilities
- Definitions and scope: who is covered by the legislation
- Enforcement processes and available remedies
- Legal considerations and strategies for advising clients on compliance and dispute resolution
As an associate in the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation practices, Katie work includes providing support to the firm’s clients in employment matters, including the representation of defendants in actions brought by employees under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD) and the Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA).
