Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Office, Newark

Robert S. Goldsmith and Robert Beckelman, partners in the firm and (respectively) co-chair and a member of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will be on the faculty for the “Redevelopment Training Institute” two-day course sponsored by the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority.  The program will be offered on Wednesday, October 5 (9:00am – 3:30pm) and Thursday, October 6 (9:00am – 4:30pm) at the Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Office, 1085 Raymond Blvd, 13th Floor, Newark, NJ.

Mr. Beckelman, who will participate in the panel discussion “Rezone, Rehabilitate or Redevelop?” on October 5 at 10:00am, focuses his practice in redevelopment, land use and zoning, eminent domain, affordable housing and related litigation. He represents developers and property owners in connection with land use and zoning matters and disputes, and also represents numerous New Jersey municipalities as special redevelopment or litigation counsel.

Mr. Goldsmith, a panelist for “Financial Considerations, Challenges and Opportunities of Redevelopment Projects” on October 6 at 11:00am, focuses his practice on redevelopment, downtown and urban revitalization, transit oriented development, project financing and incentives, sustainable building initiatives and public-private partnerships. His experience encompasses counseling clients on the specialized issues in redevelopment related to parking demand, design and construction.
