Live Webinar
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Robert S. Goldsmith, Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will be on the faculty for a live webinar on “Structuring Real Estate Development Agreements With Municipalities,” to be presented by Strafford on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Development agreements offer stability to local governments and developers, providing flexibility for long-term multi-phased development projects, greater vested rights assurances for developers, incentives to address gap financing issues and infrastructure management and other developer obligations. They also provide for the certainty of governing regulations, predictability, more accessible financing, facilitating a municipality's comprehensive planning goals, and commitments for public facilities and off-site infrastructure.

This program will provide practical and strategic guidance related to the structuring and negotiation of development agreements for property development or redevelopment. The panel will also address ways to incorporate community benefits into development agreements to optimize the likelihood of approval while minimizing unlimited development costs that can compromise project feasibility and complicate development agreements. The program will end with a live Q&A session where panelist will address questions directly.

Mr. Goldsmith's practice focuses on redevelopment, downtown and urban revitalization, transit-oriented development, project financing and incentives, sustainable building initiatives and public-private partnerships. His experience encompasses counseling clients on the specialized issues in redevelopment related to parking demand, design and construction.

Additional program information and registration can be found on the Strafford website.
