Ms. Sherman concentrates her practice in commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes. She has more than a decade of experience representing corporations and financial institutions, with a particular expertise in securities class actions and shareholder derivative lawsuits.

Ms. Sherman has assisted numerous banking clients in investigations related to global regulatory sanctions, anti-money laundering compliance, alleged manipulation of benchmark interest rates, and in a broad range of government inquiries and subpoena responses.

Ms. Sherman has also handled investigations and commercial and employment disputes for clients in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and higher education industries. She has also counseled clients on data privacy issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sherman was a litigation associate at a prominent national law firm.

  • Represented a publicly traded company in a putative securities class action, resulting in dismissal of the complaint in its entirety and affirmance on appeal
  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in a putative securities class action, obtaining the dismissal of all claims in the complaint
  • Successfully obtained a no action letter in an SEC investigation of a pharmaceutical company
  • Represented a nationwide shingles manufacturing company in decertifying a previously certified class action related to allegations of breaches of warranty and defective product
  • Represented a standard setting body that establishes financial accounting standards in a matter related to an alleged patented method of financial accounting, resulting in a complete dismissal of claims
  • Represented a firm and professional in a successful summary judgment motion dismissing all claims for malpractice
  • Represented pro bono an Alabama death row inmate obtaining multiple stays of execution and through two federal court trials relating to the constitutionality of his method of execution
  • Represented pro bono a disabled middle school student in obtaining five years of benefits following two prior denials of benefits
