Christine F. Li, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, will speak at a seminar on “Condominium and Community Association Law” on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00pm. The program, sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, will be held at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Admission is free and is open to the public, however reservations are required.
Ms. Li’s co-presenters for the seminar are A. Christopher Florio, Esq. (Stark & Stark) and Francis J. McGovern, Esq. (McGovern Legal Services). The program will address the special issues faced by condominiums, posing solutions to the financial and operational problems worsened by difficult economic times. The speakers will also detail the benefits of condominium ownership and address how to enhance the advantages of condominium living and the value of investments that owners have made in their homes.
Specific topics will include common legal and financial problems of those communities; strategies for dealing with the developer, tenants and other residents; tips for working with the association and its board; understanding the services of professionals including property managers and accountants; and litigating and resolving disputes. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentations.
Ms. Li concentrates her practice in condominium and planned real estate development law and is chair of the firm's Planned Real Estate Practice Group and co-chair of the Distressed Real Estate Practice Group. She is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the College of Community Association Lawyers.
