9:00am – 12:35pm

Joseph A. Natale, an associate in the firm’s Litigation, Healthcare, Real Estate and Redevelopment & Land Use practices, will moderate a presentation on “How to Ethically Close a Law Practice” on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 9:00am – 12:35pm at the New Jersey Law Center. The program, hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, will also be available for online viewing.

This seminar is designed for attorneys who are considering a career change, retirement, relocation, or partnership dissolution and want to ensure an ethical, responsible, and stress-free transition.

Whether closing a practice is due to a new opportunity, a judicial appointment, transition to in-house counsel, or prudent future planning (or a colleague's untimely passing), proactive preparation is essential. This seminar will provide a comprehensive framework for concluding a practice with professional integrity, ensuring all obligations are properly resolved during the transition.

The program agenda will include:

Joe concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of contract actions, construction disputes, municipal litigation, real estate and land use litigation, employment disputes, and the defense of professional liability actions. He provides representation to a diverse range of clients, including large and middle market businesses, entrepreneurs, real estate developers, construction contractors, healthcare providers, professional services firms and local government entities.
