Lydia C. Stefanowicz, Of Counsel to the firm’s Real Estate Department, will serve as Session Leader for a roundtable discussion at the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) Mid-Year Meeting, which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island on March 24-27, 2022.
Ms. Stefanowicz, an ACREL Fellow and former Chair of the College’s Attorneys' Opinions Committee, will lead a roundtable discussion on “The Court of Public Opinion: Legal Opinion Battleground Topics” on Saturday, March 26.
The session agenda will include:
- Analysis of the most hotly contested legal opinion topics from the perspective of both the opinion giver and the opinion recipient
- Recent or proposed updates to customary legal opinion assumptions and qualifications
- Insights on how law firms best manage risk in opinion practice
Ms. Stefanowicz concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial lending and real estate finance. She provides counsel to both lenders and borrowers in real estate acquisition, construction, permanent mortgage (including CMBS) and mezzanine financings. She has significant experience in real estate workouts and debt restructuring transactions and represents real estate developers and investment funds in connection with the formation of joint ventures to acquire, develop, construct and manage properties.
