NJSBA 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention, Atlantic City

Mark H. Sobel, Chair of the Family Law Department and co-managing partner of the firm, is a panelist for a program on “Red, White and Boom: Hot Topics in Family Law Including the Attack on Our Family Law Practice by Non-Lawyers and Other Hot Topics,” to be presented at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention, which takes place May 16-18, 2018 at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City.  Mr. Sobel’s program is scheduled for Thursday, May 17 from 3:30pm – 5:15pm.

This seminar will touch on various hot topics in family law including college costs, Child Support Durational Limits, the use of social media at trial and potential manipulation of same, the rise of AVVO, Legal Zoom, Limited License Legal Technicians and other attacks on the practice of family law in New Jersey today. The speakers will highlight the pros and cons of these developments, sharing their wisdom from their years on the bench and at the bar.

Mr. Sobel concentrates his practice in litigation, primarily in the area of family law and with an emphasis on the representation of high net-worth individuals.  He provides counsel across all aspects of family law, including prenuptial agreements, separation and divorce proceedings, the distribution of property and other marital assets, spousal and child support, custody and relocation. Mr. Sobel represents clients at trial, in mediations and arbitrations, and at post judgment modification and enforcement hearings.  He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney.
