Steven Nudelman, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, is on the faculty for a live webcast on “Strategies and Practical Tips in Addressing and Managing Construction Risks.” The program, to be presented on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 3:00pm – 4:30pm (ET), is sponsored by The Knowledge Group.
Construction is inherently risky. Each project comes with a unique set of challenges that if not handled properly can disrupt and derail the project. Personal injury, property damage, economic losses, latent defects and warranty claims are among the risks which owners, developers and contractors must address and manage. The task of an effective construction risk management is the prevention or reduction of losses caused by exposure to these risks. To be able to do this, it is important to identify potential hazard and its extent, and develop measures to control and manage the risk.
This program will explore the common risks present in a construction project, providing guidance in developing an effective risk management plan and process to control potential and residual risks.
Key topics will include:
- Types of Construction-Related Risks
- Risk Assessment & Management Process
- Managing Residual Risks
- Construction Claims and Litigation
Mr. Nudelman will lecture on the topic of Contract Terms Designed to Limit or Mitigate Risks, focusing on issues related to:
- Surety Bonds
- Waivers of Subrogation
- Dispute Resolution
Mr. Nudelman concentrates his practice in construction law and the representation of members of the construction industry across a broad spectrum of matters. His clients include owners, contractors, design professionals, subcontractors and suppliers involved in public and private construction projects throughout New Jersey. He also represents community associations, unit owners and developers in lawsuits involving construction defects, budgeting and financing issues, and condominium governance.
