The law firm of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP announces that Stephen H. Knee has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Department.

Knee, resident in the firm’s Roseland office, concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions; corporate law and business counseling; financial services; professional liability counseling; securities regulation; and e-commerce and Internet law. He represents corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and other business entities in all forms of business transactions. Knee also represents lenders in commercial financial transactions and secured and unsecured creditors in workouts and bankruptcy proceedings.
 
Prior to joining the firm, Knee was a partner at another New Jersey law firm where he was head of the Corporate Transactions Department. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Corporate section and Chambers USA - America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2004-2005 in the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions practice area. Knee is also listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.

Knee lectures frequently on corporate law and insolvency law topics. He has been a participant in the New Jersey Business Law Symposium since its inception. He is a director and former chair of the Corporate and Business Law Section, a member of the Banking Law Section, the Bankruptcy Law Section, and a former member of the Program Committee, all of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association and its Committee on Negotiated Acquisitions, where he co-chairs its Task Force on Acquisitions of Public Companies. He is a former member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Fee Arbitration Committee and its Ethics Committee. Knee is also a member of the American College of Investment Counsel, the Essex County Bar Association, and a founding member of the Inn of Transactional Counsel.

Knee is a graduate of Duke University and received his law degree from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey; New York; the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York; the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court.
