Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith, Ravin, Davis & Himmel LLP represented Tri-State Repair and Dry Dock in Perth Amboy in the sale of 12.75 acres, including 6.75 upland acres and 6 riparian acres, to Landings at Harborside, LLC, a Kushner Company, for $7.6 million. The dry dock firm’s sale ended a three-year dispute with Perth Amboy’s redevelopment agency. Attorneys from four departments at Greenbaum, Rowe successfully brought the settlement to fruition after lawsuits had been filed on behalf of Tri-State that contested the validity of the city’s adoption of the redevelopment plan and the city’s authority to condemn Tri-State’s property, and on behalf of the city condemning the property. The city’s initial offer in condemnation was $1.05 million.

The firm attorneys involved in the transaction were Alan E. Davis, chair of the Corporate Department, Robert C. Schachter, chair of the Real Estate Department, William D. Grand, partner in the Litigation Department, and Allen V. Brown, counsel in the Tax, Trusts & Estates Department.
