Alan S. Naar, partner in the law firm Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, has been appointed to serve on the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Bench-Bar-Media Committee. The committee informs the public about court proceedings by providing accurate and accessible information. It devises solutions and develops protocols in order to keep the public up-to-date about the courts in general, as well as about particular court cases through accurate reporting, including initiatives instituted by the judiciary to create transparency as to judicial proceedings at all levels.

Naar is vice chair of the Litigation Department and chair of the Dispute Resolution Group at Greenbaum. He has served as vice chair of the Product Liability Law Section of the Essex County Bar Association and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Federal Practice and Procedure Committee of NJSBA. He is presently a trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, and a director of the Columbia Law School Alumni Association.

Naar has a practice concentration in commercial litigation representing a variety of corporate, partnership, and individual clients. He has also acted as New Jersey counsel for a number of international clients including, for example, the Republic of the Philippines in litigation against U.S. companies alleging fraud and bribery in connection with the awarding of contracts relating to the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the Philippines. He has also been retained by a number of New York City and Washington, D.C. law firms to be New Jersey counsel for their clients because of his expertise in New Jersey federal and state court practice. Naar is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Commercial Litigation category.
