Paul A. Rowe, Chairman of the firm and Chair of the Litigation Department at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, has been selected Best Lawyers Bet-the-Company Litigator of the Year in New Jersey for 2011. Mr. Rowe's pre-eminence in his profession stems from his successful track record litigating sophisticated, complex cases in a variety of fields. He has litigated and tried to conclusion complicated corporate and business matters, and, in particular, cases where the entire value of a business is at risk – bet-the-company cases. Mr. Rowe also handles high profile complex matrimonial matters. Recently, Mr. Rowe procured the largest known equitable distribution award in New Jersey history at the conclusion of a three month trial. His total portfolio of cases, many of which have been heavily publicized, have also included construction cases, partnership and corporate disputes, stock fraud, anti-trust, matrimonial and chancery litigation of all types.
Mr. Rowe is the author of New Jersey Business Litigation, the primary source book describing how New Jersey courts have dealt with business issues in litigation. He is also the co-author of the standard textbook utilized by judges and equity lawyers throughout the state entitled, Guidebook to Chancery Practice in New Jersey.
For his accomplishments, Mr. Rowe has been recognized nationally and internationally. Mr. Rowe is one of 500 United States Fellows of the International Academy of Trial Attorneys and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Rowe is one of 490 lawyers worldwide listed in the International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigation, and he was one of the top three vote getters in Super Lawyers – New Jersey Edition 2010. Since 1989, Mr. Rowe has been selected in the Bet-the-Company, Appellate Law, Business Litigation and Family Law categories by Best Lawyers.
Mr. Rowe is a graduate of Tufts University (B.A.) and Columbia University School of Law (LLB). He is admitted to the bar in NJ and NY.
