Paul A. Rowe, managing partner and chair of the Litigation Department of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, was recently selected to be listed in the International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigation and the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers making him one of 472 litigators world wide selected by the directory, which is the research partner of the International Bar Association. The directory, published by Law Business Research Ltd. of London, is used internationally by general counsels and companies as a credible referral source for experienced lawyers who are selected through the evaluations of fellow practitioners and clients.

In his lengthy career, Mr. Rowe has served a myriad of business, professional and individual clients throughout the country in both state and federal courts. As lead counsel in many prominent cases, his successful litigation results have been widely covered in both the business and legal media. Notable matters have included one of the largest anti-trust cases in New Jersey involving the Atlantic City casino market, the rehabilitation of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company, where he was lead trial counsel for the general creditors, a recent seven month jury trial of a $200 million construction case and numerous other business litigations of all sorts such as oppressed minority stockholders suits, partnership and corporate disputes, major real estate broker commission cases, stock fraud cases and complex matrimonial and various forms of chancery cases.

Mr. Rowe is particularly well known for his ‘Bet-the-Company’ cases, where the entire value of the company is at risk, and his matrimonial litigation practice, representing significant cases in which there often are complex matters related to business, real estate and tax issues. In one matrimonial litigation case of particular note, Rowe won the largest divorce award ($38.9 million) in New Jersey history in 2004, a decision that was featured in the New Jersey Law Journal.

For his accomplishments, Mr. Rowe has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Bet-the-Company Litigation, Business Litigation, Appellate and Family Law categories. Significantly, Rowe was among the original 146 lawyers selected for the Bet-the-Company category listed in 2006, a category that today includes only 487 lawyers nationally. Rowe is listed in Chambers USA - America’s Leading Business Lawyers guide as a leader in the Litigation practice area since the initial 2003 publication. He is listed in the Law Dragon 3000 Directory of Leading Lawyers, a category that represents 1% of the litigation population. Rowe is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 1993, Rowe received the Trial Bar Award of the Trial Attorneys of NJ.

He is a past president of the Essex County Bar Association and a member of the New Jersey State and American Bar Associations. He has also served as president of the Legal Services Foundation of Essex County (1997-1999) and is a trustee of the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Rowe is the author of New Jersey Business Litigation, an extensive treatise addressing how and in what format New Jersey courts have addressed business disputes.
