Senwan H. Akhtar, an associate in Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP’s Corporate and Real Estate Departments, was one of two Special Editors of the December 2012 issue of New Jersey Lawyer Magazine, a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Akhtar serves on the magazine’s editorial board. The issue, which focused on legal issues related to contract law, was also edited by James J. Ferrelli of Duane Morris LLP, chair of the editorial board. The issue includes articles that affect many practice areas, including articles on the parol evidence rule, the New Jersey Franchise Practices Act, employment contracts, marital settlement agreements, ground lease agreements, and real estate brokerage agreements.

Ms. Akhtar currently serves as the co-Chair of the Real Estate Committee of the Middlesex County Bar Association. In 2012, she was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers - New Jersey Rising Stars in the Business/Corporate practice area. Ms. Akhtar served on the Board of Consultors of the State Bar’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section from 2011 to 2012. She served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association from 2008 to 2012. She was the recipient of the Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the Middlesex County Bar Association in 2011. She was selected for inclusion in the 2011 edition of the New Jersey Law Journal's "40 Under 40”issue.

Ms. Akhtar’s practice focuses on the representation of companies in general corporate matters, employment agreements, distribution and licensing agreements, and the structuring of new business entities and joint ventures. She represents sellers and purchasers in all aspects of real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including office buildings, industrial facilities, shopping centers, and residential developments.
