Like many others in the legal community, we at Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis are horrified and disheartened by the recent events that resulted in the loss of the lives of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and many others.  We mourn the passing of these lives especially under such tragic circumstances and offer heartfelt condolences to their families.  As a firm, we reject racism in all forms and stand behind the principle that all individuals are created equal and should not be judged by the color of their skin.

Amidst the bleakness of our times, however, a ray of hope is shining through that positive change may actually be at hand.  We are inspired by the passion expressed by many in the wake of these events.  We join in their missives that bigotry and bias have no place in a lawful and civil society and that the iniquity of racial discrimination must be acknowledged and eradicated.  We support real and positive change, socially and politically, so that common decency towards our fellow neighbors becomes a norm.

To bring action to the cause, we will continue as a firm to act as fair and impartial legal advocates to our clients. We will expand our own knowledge and impact on our community through the important work of our diversity and inclusion initiative, and explore new opportunities through which we, as a firm, can be an active participant in influencing meaningful change.  We will continue as individual attorneys to fulfill our professional and moral responsibility to represent all people in their pursuit of justice.  Finally, we will do our part to treat all people equally.
