Giving back is an ethical priority.

Our lawyers are proud to engage in the representation of clients in pro bono matters with the same level of dedication and commitment to delivering quality legal work that define our efforts on behalf of every client.

Throughout the years, we have provided pro bono services to individuals, organizations and municipalities across a range of legal issues, calling into action the knowledge and experience of both associate attorneys and partners.  This has included advising clients on matters related to real estate and redevelopment matters, corporate law, tax and estate issues, employment law, and civil rights violations.

Some examples of our pro bono work follow:

» Serving as court- appointed pro bono counsel in a New Jersey federal court matter decided under the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction Hague Convention (Hague Convention)

» In association with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plainfield & Middlesex County and the Pro Bono Partnership, handled the legal work needed to form a condominium association to enable ownership of homes for five families at Habitat Village at West Seventh Street in the City of Plainfield

» Representing The United Way of Hunterdon County (UWHC) on the acquisition and financing of a new multi-purpose community center in Flemington, NJ

» Representing Rutgers University on charitable issues related to donations to the Rutgers University Foundation and the Rutgers Alumni Association, and also on issues related to a joint venture with City University of New York (CUNY) and Cornell University regarding the environmental cleanup of Jamaica Bay in New York

» Representing Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press as Amicus Curiae, advancing important First Amendment defenses in a defamation action

» Representing an inmate in several lawsuits involving civil rights violations that occurred during incarceration. Settlements were ultimately reached in each case, which involved a failure to provide timely medical care and the use of excessive force
