Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP Client Alert
4.8.20

On April 7, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order 119, extending the public health emergency issued on March 9 under Executive Order 103, which was initially set to expire on April 8, for an additional 30 days to May 8, 2020.

By statute, a public health emergency declared pursuant to the Emergency Health Powers Act automatically terminates after 30 days unless renewed by the Governor.  In issuing the 30-day extension, which was expected, the Governor further directed that all Executive Orders previously issued, in whole or in part, pursuant to the Emergency Health Powers Act will remain “in full force and effect.”
