In response to the COVID-19 emergency, effective March 20, 2020 the New Jersey Department of Health and Department of Human Services are requiring post-acute facilities in the State to submit weekly data regarding their bed availability, by type, as well as their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needs.  The survey is being conducted by the New Jersey Hospital Association, with the first reporting deadline scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

The reporting requirements apply to:

The Departments have not yet stated that they will use these facilities for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, but have indicated they are seeking this data so they can be fully cognizant of available bed space for vulnerable populations throughout the State should a need arise. This is consistent with other actions by the State to ensure appropriate treatment is available should the surge in COVID-19 cases continue, including potentially reopening numerous closed hospitals such as the former Muhlenberg Medical Center and Inspira Medical Center – Woodbury.

The notice issued by the Departments to the Chief Executive Officers and Administrators of the affected facilities is attached here.
