9:00am - 12:35pm

Raymond M. Brown, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, will lecture at the seminar “Justice at Dachau,” to be presented on April 27, 2016 from 9:00am – 12:35pm by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

This program will explore a critical event in the post-Holocaust period: the largest yet least known war crimes trial in history.  The story is told through the eyes of Col. William Denson, chief prosecutor, a Southern lawyer and officer determined to achieve righteous judgments against Nazi murderers but unprepared for the procedural and psychic obstacles he would encounter during more than two years of exposure to the horrors of the Holocaust.

Mr. Brown, a dedicated human right activist, concentrates his practice in white collar criminal defense, international human rights issues, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation.  He has defended clients in state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals. He is a leading figure in the developing area of law related to the regulation and enforcement of business requirements for human rights compliance. He has appeared in courts in twelve states and has conducted investigations in the U.S. and in Kenya, El Salvador, the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Colombia and Sierra Leone. His international experience includes qualifying as Counsel before the International Criminal Court in The Hague and serving as Co-Lead Defense Counsel at the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
