Robert Beckelman, a partner in the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, is on the faculty for the 2017 Annual Redevelopment Law Institute, which will be presented on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The program, sponsored by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, will be held at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin.
This presentation will include segments addressing a number of key issues related to the redevelopment process in New Jersey, including:
- The role of Redevelopment Area Bonds in getting projects done
- Labor related requirements in redevelopment agreements, including recent case law
- The redevelopment potential of suburban office campuses
- Practical tips related to PILOT agreements
Mr. Beckelman focuses his practice in redevelopment, land use and zoning, eminent domain, affordable housing and related litigation. His work includes the drafting and negotiation of contracts, developer and tax abatement agreements, redevelopment reports, plans and public documents. He advises clients on statutory and regulatory compliance issues. Mr. Beckelman regularly appears in New Jersey Superior Court in land use, zoning, condemnation, commercial and civil litigation matters, and also represents clients in appearances before various boards, governing bodies and agencies. His clients include developers and property owners, as well as the representation of numerous New Jersey municipalities as special redevelopment or litigation counsel.
