Robert S. Goldsmith, co-Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will participate as a breakout session speaker at the 2017 Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development. The conference will be held October 5-6, 2017 at Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City, and will be jointly presented by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency, and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
Mr. Goldsmith will be a panelist for a session on “Successful Redevelopment Areas Case Studies” which is scheduled for Thursday, October 5 from 9:00 am – 10:15 am. Panelists will focus on the successful planning and implementation of an effective redevelopment strategy. The speakers will share insights about the impacts of successful transit-oriented redevelopment, how mixed-income and mixed-use development can change the economics and dynamics of a struggling community, and overall best practices.
Mr. Goldsmith's practice focuses on redevelopment, downtown and urban revitalization, transit oriented development, project financing and incentives, sustainable building initiatives and public-private partnerships. His experience encompasses counseling clients on the specialized issues in redevelopment related to parking demand, design and construction. Mr. Goldsmith also has broad experience in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation and appellate work.
