John D. North, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, will moderate and be a panelist for “A Day on Evidence” to be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 9:00am – 3:30pm. The hybrid program, presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, will be presented in cooperation with the NJSBA Certified Attorneys Section and the NJSBA Civil Trial Bar Section at the New Jersey Law Center, as well as online.
Evidence skills can take years to master. This full day program is specifically designed to give litigators at all levels an opportunity to learn how the presentation of evidence can be made more effective and persuasive. The panel will delve into topics including a review of common rules of evidence and recent case law developments; evidence derived from social media sources; weaving together trial themes, issues and evidence; the use of timelines, video clips and animations to tell a compelling story at trial; and admissibility of double and triple hearsay. The program will culminate with an important discussion of ethical evidence issues every attorney needs to be aware of.
