Steven G. Mlenak, Co-Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will lecture at the 2022 NJ Planning and Redevelopment Conference, which for the second year is being presented jointly by New Jersey Future and the American Planning Association New Jersey chapter. This year’s conference will be held virtually on June 14-15, 2022 and in-person on June 16, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick.

Mr. Mlenak will be a panelist for the session “Right-Sizing It: The Challenges and Opportunities of Parking for Redevelopment Projects,” which will be presented in-person on Thursday, June 16 from 2:30pm – 3:45pm. The presentation will explore the challenges facing municipalities and developers alike in designing smart parking programs. The panel will discuss the anticipated revisions to the outdated RSIS parking standards, changes in the ways society parks now and in the future, shared parking, and public private partnership opportunities driven by parking.

Mr. Mlenak focuses his practice in the areas of redevelopment, land use, zoning, and real estate development. His clients include property owners and developers engaged in mixed use, residential, industrial, commercial, office, retail and affordable housing development projects. Mr. Mlenak counsels redevelopers, property owners and municipalities on all aspects of the redevelopment process, including the negotiation and drafting of redevelopment agreements, review of redevelopment area studies and redevelopment plans, drafting of redevelopment-related ordinances and resolutions, and appearances before redevelopment entities and governing bodies. He is Chair of the firm’s Financial Incentives & Economic Development Practice Group.
