Robert J. Flanagan III, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, will be on the faculty for a seminar on “FDCPA and Collection Law,” to be presented by the National Business Institute (NBI). The program will be presented on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill from 9:00am – 4:30pm.
Mr. Flanagan will lecture on two topics: the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Ethics.
The FDCPA segment will focus on:
- Persons and transactions covered
- Covered communications
- How to comply with the Act
- Prohibited Conduct
- State FDCPA regulations
The Ethics segment will cover:
- Candor with the tribunal
- Dealing with unrepresented persons
- Unauthorized practice of law
Mr. Flanagan concentrates his practice in litigation, including substantial work in all aspects of both state and federal civil and criminal litigation pre-trial, trial, and appellate practice. His experience is focused in the areas of banking and creditors’ rights, white collar criminal defense, landlord-tenant disputes, personal injury, community association law, and commercial litigation. Mr. Flanagan represents several clients in debt collection matters for both consumer and commercial debts, including a large number of condominium homeowner associations.
