Robert S. Goldsmith and Robert Beckelman, co-chair and member of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department respectively, will be speakers at the New Jersey Future Redevelopment Forum on March 11, 2016 at the Hyatt in New Brunswick.  They will participate as panelists for “Redevelopment Law Update” which will begin at 11:00am. 

Mr. Goldsmith and Mr. Beckelman, along with their co-presenters, will discuss the amendment to the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law which permits the redevelopment process to include or exclude eminent domain, as well as the Hackensack decision that restored flexibility related to designating an area in need of redevelopment.

Mr. Goldsmith's practice focuses on redevelopment, downtown and urban revitalization, transit oriented development, project financing and incentives, sustainable building initiatives and public-private partnerships. His experience encompasses counseling clients on the specialized issues in redevelopment related to parking demand, design and construction. Mr. Goldsmith also has broad experience in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation and appellate work. He is a trustee and board member of New Jersey Future.

Mr. Beckelman focuses his practice in redevelopment, land use and zoning, eminent domain, affordable housing and related litigation. He represents developers and property owners in connection with land use and zoning matters and disputes, and also represents numerous New Jersey municipalities as special redevelopment or litigation counsel.
