For the second consecutive year, Litigation Department partners John D. North and Eric Tunis will present a seminar on “Tools of the Trade: The Top Procedural Devices for Trial Lawyers - Strategies that Get Results,” hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. The Hon. Glenn Berman (Ret.), Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, will also be a speaker at this year’s program, scheduled for August 27, 2015 from 9:00am – 1:00pm at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ.

The presentation will focus on tips and strategies for leveraging the power of the rules of evidence, to include the use of:

Mr. North focuses his practice in litigation, with an emphasis on trial practice. He has tried over 75 jury cases to verdict. His practice encompasses the defense of catastrophic injury and other high exposure cases, commercial and banking litigation, construction litigation, professional liability, and a personal injury practice limited to the representation of plaintiffs in cases involving significant injuries and complex liability issues. Mr. North is the author of the NJICLE treatise “A Trial Lawyer’s Strategic Guide to the New Jersey Rules of Evidence,” which will be available for purchase at the seminar.

Mr. Tunis is a trial and appellate attorney with over thirty years of experience litigating criminal and complex civil cases.  As a criminal defense attorney for twenty years and a federal prosecutor for ten years, he focuses primarily on white collar criminal and civil litigation, criminal and internal investigations, and appellate work, with a concentration in the areas of securities, commercial and employment law.  

Judge Berman focuses his practice on mediation, arbitration, and discovery management of complex family, commercial, estate/probate, real estate and general equity matters. His practice area also encompasses special master services, settlement conferences and law enforcement investigations.
