David A. Roth, chair of the Environmental Practice Group at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP in Woodbridge, NJ, was a panel member addressing “Environmental Concerns in Real Estate Development” at the New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Meeting in Atlantic City in May. Mr. Roth was also recently re-elected one of the Directors of the Association’s Environmental Law Section.

Roth has a concentration in real estate, environmental, and health and safety law with special emphasis on compliance counseling and the environmental aspects of real estate and business transactions.  He assists clients in resolving issues arising under solid and hazardous waste laws, the federal Clean Water Act, the New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), the Toxic Substances Control Act, right-to-know programs, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and emerging product safety laws. A substantial part of his practice involves negotiating with and appearing before federal, state and local agencies in connection with enforcement actions, site investigation and clean up cases, permitting, voluntary agreements, and administrative consent orders, and handling administrative and judicial appeals. He also works closely with client EHS and legal departments on auditing, developing environmental management systems, and training with respect to compliance, reporting and disclosure requirements.

A graduate of Rutgers University, he received his law degree from University of Maryland School of Law.
