Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP is pleased to announce that Mitchel S. Kay and David C. Scott have joined the firm as associates.

Mitchel S. KayMitchel S. Kay is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Department. He concentrates his practice in commercial and industrial real estate law, assisting clients in matters related to transactions throughout New Jersey and New York.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kay was responsible for negotiating complex technology transactions at a leading global bank. Through this experience, he has acquired strong negotiation and problem-solving skills that lead to the successful resolution of issues.  Mr. Kay’s background also encompasses intellectual property and media-related transactions, including trademark filings, sponsorship agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and production agreements. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

David C. ScottDavid C. Scott is a member of the firm’s Environmental Department. His environmental law practice emphasizes transactions and regulatory compliance.  He provides counsel on environmental issues that arise in real estate transactions, including hazardous waste and groundwater contamination, underground storage tanks, and the cleanup and remediation of contaminated sites.  Mr. Scott has assisted in the representation of private equity firms, manufacturers, retailers, lenders and developers in mergers, divestitures, acquisitions, and the purchase and sale of commercial and industrial real estate properties. His experience includes environmental due diligence and the negotiation of environmental provisions in purchase and sale, stock purchase, and environmental indemnity agreements.  His background also encompasses the analysis and management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks, the oversight of environmental compliance audits, and compliance with the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), and other federal and state environmental statutes.  He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia.
