Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP is proud to announce that John D. North, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, has been selected to receive a 2019 Trial Bar Award from the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ). Mr. North will be recognized at the organization’s 52nd Annual Trial Bar Awards Reception on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange.
Mr. North joins a highly selective group of New Jersey attorneys who have been recipients of the Trial Bar Award. “As a long-time member of TANJ and a former President, this award has special significance to me,” he comments. “It represents the ideals that I have always strived to achieve. I consider it a great honor and thank my TANJ colleagues for this recognition.”
Mr. North has tried over 75 jury cases to verdict during his career, and is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to the defense of catastrophic injury and other high exposure cases in the areas of negligence, public entity liability and professional liability. He also represents commercial and residential real estate developers in connection with design and construction defect litigation, as well as the defense of claims brought under New Jersey's Planned Real Estate Full Disclosure Act and Consumer Fraud Act. Additionally, he has represented major banks and financial institutions in connection with lender liability claims and matters involving negotiable instruments and financial fraud.
