Meryl A.G. Gonchar, Co-Chair of GRSD's Real Estate Department and Chair of the firm's Land Use Practice Group, was recently selected by Real Estate New Jersey magazine as one of the state's leading real estate lawyers. Lawyers were selected on the basis of their depth of knowledge of the industry and participation in significant commercial real estate projects.  

Gonchar's practice encompasses all aspects of land use and zoning and land use litigation.  She has appeared before planning and zoning boards throughout the state on behalf of property owners and developer clients in connection with all types of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed use projects. She also represents clients in land use, condemnation and related litigation before the Superior Court of New Jersey. Her diversified experience enables her to assist clients throughout the various stages of a project’s development, from acquisition through approvals and permitting, financing, leasing or sales, providing extensive knowledge and continuity throughout the often long and complicated process of land development.   

Gonchar was selected for NJBIZ magazine's Top 50 Women in Business in 2008.  She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2009 in the Real Estate category; in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2009 in the Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use practice area; and in Super Lawyers - New Jersey Edition in the Real Estate category and as one of New Jersey's Top 50 Women Lawyers (2009). She is an elected member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and a member of the Long Term Planning Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She previously served as a member and as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Land Use Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
