I learned the value of teamwork and collaboration as a Division One athlete, and I’ve carried that point of view with me into the practice of law. As a litigator, I work closely with clients to understand their needs, striking a balance between offensive and defensive strategies to target innovative and creative tactics that can successfully address disputed issues and achieve favorable outcomes.

Ms. Carroll concentrates her practice in litigation with an emphasis on the representation of healthcare providers. Her experience encompasses issues related to medical staffing privileging and peer review matters, restrictive covenant claims, insurance defense and coverage disputes involving general liability claims, and matters related to professional liability, product liability, negligent security and wrongful death claims. In addition, her experience includes defending construction defect claims and legal malpractice matters.

Ms. Carroll’s represents hospitals, physicians, physician practices, pharmaceutical companies, and attorneys in litigation related to breach of contract claims, violations of due process and fundamental fairness, violations of federal and state antitrust statutes, common law defamation claims, and professional licensure and credentialing issues. She also provides risk management guidance on issues at the intersection of various state laws and medical licensing regulations, including the potential impact of any physician medical staff disciplinary actions on the obligation to report to the National Practitioner Data Bank.

Ms. Carroll counsels her clients on the most effective and economic legal strategies by evaluating liability and exposure against the alleged damages to determine whether early resolution is a cost-effective option.  She has filed and defended dispositive motions, along with orders to show cause, negotiated settlements independently with adversaries, and participated in mediations while exploring the potential for early resolution. Ms. Carroll also prepares discovery and appears for depositions with a litigation strategy in mind to ensure the discovery process develops and supports adequate defenses available should her cases move towards trial.
