Live Webinar
1:00pm

Glenn P. Prives, a partner in the firm’s Healthcare and Corporate Departments, will serve as a faculty member for the webinar “Private Equity Transactions in Healthcare: Stark, AKS, and Other Compliance Challenges,” to be presented by Strafford on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 1:00pm.

Private equity firms play an active role in healthcare deals. The healthcare sector is seeking and drawing private equity firms' attention for investment in long-term care, urgent care, surgery centers, health IT companies, behavioral health, and dental practices. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many have shifted their attention to telehealth.

This webinar will examine the nuts and bolts of healthcare private equity transactions and discuss purchase price considerations, tax structures, deal terms, and indemnities. The panel will also address regulatory issues in healthcare private equity transactions, including Stark and Anti-Kickback Statute regulations.

Mr. Prives concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare and corporate law. His experience on behalf of healthcare industry clients encompasses hospital-physician alignment, mergers and acquisitions, affiliations, alliances, strategic transactions, joint ventures, recruitment matters, the drafting and negotiation of contractual agreements, healthcare information technology issues, integrated delivery systems (population health) and clinical integration matters. He also counsels clients on a variety of healthcare regulatory matters, including Stark, Anti-Kickback, state self-referral laws, fraud and abuse, HIPAA, health care reform, Medicare and Medicaid issues, coverage and overpayment issues, compliance, regulatory and due diligence reviews, licensure and certification issues, the corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting laws.

Additional program details and registration are available on the Strafford website.
